Our History and Mission
Lizella Baptist Church is warm in fellowship and generous in spirit with a loving family atmosphere. The location is easily accessible on Highway 80 from around Bibb, Crawford and Monroe Counties. The message proclaimed is God-honoring and Biblically based, with a worship service which is blended with a wide variety of musical offerings. We offer Bible study, Discipleship classes and Ministry opportunities for the congregation and friends to become involved in both small group and large group settings.
Lizella Baptist got its start as a mission endeavor of the Bethel Baptist Church in 1922 on the grounds which it currently stands. LBC soon grew into a church that was able to support itself. The church body had the vision to build education spaces and worship venues to suit the growing needs of the church body and a growing community.
One visit to the church grounds will provide the understanding of the church’s desire to grow and stretch to meet the needs of the people whom God has called to serve. The facilities only provide a small example of what is happening at LBC. The full story is told by the lives of the people and the God driven desires of the staff that reveal a church that longs to be the vessels God would use to reach the community of middle Georgia and beyond for the cause of Christ Jesus our Lord.
